INTERWOVEN
Hair isnt everything - said no one ever.

‘Interwoven' explores the social expectations placed on others relating to their hair. It's funny that in practicality it is something that serves a purpose to keep warmth and protect the extremities. Yet to the modern human - it represents so much more. Why is it considered 'brave' when someone shaves their hair off? Or when people with textured hair wear their hair natural? Why does society convince us certain hairstyles are more feminine?
Through the work we hope to open up the conversation surrounding how we present our hair. That eventually through conversation and representation we can begin break the cycle of judgement, shame and negative connotations around difference.
